Falling Drone Debris Leaves Six Injured in Abu Dhabi

(MENAFN) Six people sustained injuries in Abu Dhabi on Thursday after fragments from an intercepted drone rained down across two locations in the city, Emirati authorities confirmed.

The Abu Dhabi Media Office said in an official statement that air defense systems successfully brought down the drone, but falling debris struck the ICAD II neighborhood at two separate sites. Six workers — nationals of Pakistan and Nepal — suffered injuries described as ranging from minor to moderate, according to authorities.

The incident unfolds amid the continuing large-scale U.S.-Israeli offensive on Iran, which has been underway since Saturday and has killed at least 926 people, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior military officials.

Tehran has responded with successive waves of drone and missile strikes aimed at Israel and Gulf states that host U.S. military assets — of which the United Arab Emirates is among the most prominent.
